Welcome To
Dixie Land Bulldogges!
We are in the process of
building a quality Olde English Bulldogge breeding
program that is founded on health, temperament and
conformation. While we are relatively new to the Olde
English Bulldogge breed, we are not new to the dog
fancy. We are active members of our local kennel
club. We purchased our first Doberman,
Dixieland’s Lady Scarlet, a beautiful red, natural ear
female in 1995. Scarlet was trained in obedience and had
her first litter of puppies in 1998. We kept Dixieland’s
General I’m the King, a black and rust male from her
first litter, who was trained in obedience and personal
protection. We spent the next few years working to
improve our line to produce working Dobermans that could
also be part of the family. Although we love Dobermans,
we became interested in the Olde English Bulldogge when
another family member began looking for a puppy. We
began to do research on the breed in 2005 when we had
our first child. We wanted a more docile, low drive
companion in our home with our new baby.
We purchased Harley, an
Olde English Bulldogge female, in 2008. I have been
actively showing Harley in conformation through the
NAKC and the
NBA.
I am having a lot of fun learning to handle in the
conformation ring and it is a change from handling a
working, protection dog; which, means I am getting
valuable experience at a new hobby. We are now in love
with this wonderful breed of dog and even though we do
still own one Doberman, Hoytt’s Radar O’Reilly, CGC, our
plan is to add new OEB’s to our home in the future as we
look forward to beginning our own breeding program that
will be focused on the perpetuation of excellence and
conformation of this wonderful breed.
